MOUTH OF THE TYNE festival - 12TH jULY 2026
We’re thrilled to announce that Sunday for Sammy will be taking over the Front Street Stage at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival on Sunday 12th July!
From 11:00am – 5:00pm, the Sammy stage will showcase an incredible line-up of young talented performers and up-and-coming local stars from across the North East. It’s a fantastic opportunity to discover the region’s next generation of artists as they take to the stage and share their talents with festival audiences.

CHRIS FORBES BAND

Chris Forbes is a North Shields based guitarist, singer and songwriter creating guitar-driven indie, rock and folk-inspired music. Following the release of his debut single ‘Strain’, Chris is now taking his songs to the stage with his band, with new music and live shows lined up for
the months ahead.
"Sunday for Sammy is an incredible charity run by amazing people. The support they provide to artists and creatives across the North East is invaluable. Their arena show not only raises funds but also shines a spotlight on local talent on a national, and even international stage. Which I believe is truly unique.
Playing the Sunday for Sammy stage at Mouth of the Tyne Festival is a fantastic opportunity for an artist at my level, and I'm proud to be doing it with the support of Sunday for Sammy. Becoming a grantee has already meant so much to me, and being given the chance to perform at such a high profile event is something I'm incredibly grateful for. Having everyone at Sunday for Sammy genuinely behind you and invested in your journey is a great feeling."
archie worrall
I'm Archie Worrall, I play guitar and sing and I’m from North Shields. I absolutely love music and listen to a wide range of music from Ocean Colour Scene to Loyle Carner.
"I’m absolutely buzzing to play and I’d like to thank Sunday for Sammy for giving me the opportunity.
I’ll be playing a few covers and maybe some originals, should be a good gig!
BILLIE WHARTON

My name is Billie Wharton. I have been performing for about 5 years. I play guitar, write my own music and sing. I’m currently studying music performance at Newcastle college. I enjoy performing a mixture of genres of music. But mainly pop and rock.
“It is such an honour to perform on the Sunday for Sammy stage at the Mouth of the Tyne as the charity has supported so many emerging artists from the North East. As a young artist I look up to the founding members with great respect and hope to be as successful as them in my career.”
LOW LIGHTS

Combining soulful vocals with driving rhythms and funky riffs, Lowlights are an exciting new band brimming with youthful energy.
SAVANNAH LILY

I am a 19 year old singer/songwriter with a passion for country music. I have performed in venues all across the North East including The Glasshouse, The Cluny, The Grove and The Utilita Arena for Sunday For Sammy’s 2026 Concert. I am working on new music with various different songwriters and artists and have some exciting projects coming up!
“Sunday for Sammy awarded me a grant in 2025, which enabled me to release new music, promote my work, and further develop my brand and image. Their support has not only helped move my music career forward but has also provided incredible performance opportunities that have raised my profile.
One of the biggest highlights was performing at the 2026 Sunday for Sammy Concert at the Utilita Arena. From the first rehearsal to stepping onto the arena stage, the entire team made me feel relaxed, supported, and confident. It gave me the opportunity to share my music with a wider audience and encouraged many people to continue following my journey on social media. Performing alongside local icons and legends was both inspiring and motivating. It showed me that with hard work, dedication, and belief in myself, I can continue building a career and hopefully one day become an artist who inspires others in the same way.”
KATIE GRACE

Katie Grace's wistful singer-songwriter musings are steeped in the coastal scenery and larger-than-life characters of the North East coast where the artist found her feet.
The recipient of the 2023 Alan Hull Award for songwriting, her roots have been in the richly creative North Shields scene since she was 13, busking and gigging across the region supporting artists such as Tom A. Smith, Dave Hull-Denholm of Lindisfarne, Bear Park, Ceitidh Mac and Ella Henderson alongside sellout headline shows in 2023.
After her appearances at Camp Bestival in summer 2024, drawing in her largest crowds to date in Dorset and Shropshire, a stint in the cohort of Generator’s First Notes artist development project preceded her first main stage booking for Mouth of the Tyne Festival in summer 2025.
Now aged 21, Katie splits her time between the North East of England and South East London, where she studies music and regularly appears at venues such as the Dublin Castle in Camden, selling out the Troubadour for her first headline in the capital in January 2026. Her recent grant from the iconic Sunday for Sammy trust, with its latest high-profile patron announced as The 1975’s Matty Healy, is funding her ongoing recording work.

SAM IDUS

My name is Sam Idus, I'm 18 and mostly do covers either solo or with my band, Nine Lives. I perform a range of genres but mostly do jazz and retro style music as a soloist and punk rock as part of a band. I also write my own songs which deliberately transcend genres.
“This would be my first time performing for Sunday for Sammy but I have seen the work that they do and I absolutely love it. I've heard nothing short of amazing comments from performers I know who have been affiliated with SfS before. I'm also deeply grateful that SfS has and keeps creating a platform for grassroot performers like myself.”
alf hill

I’m Alf, an 18 singer/songwriter from Newcastle and if you like all things indie as well as some well known bangers then I can give just that.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be playing the SfS stage for Mouth of the Tyne as it’s such an amazing organisation that has helped me not only grow in confidence but also allowed me to produce and release my second EP with the extremely generous grant they gave me!”
THE LAST TIME
The Last Time are a rising indie-pop band from Sunderland, quickly building a name for themselves across the North East music scene. Since forming in 2023, they’ve played venues including The Georgian Theatre and Independent, and supported artists such as Tom A.Smith and Isabel Maria. They’ve also performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at Redcar Kite Festival, during Mercury Prize Fringe Week at Pop Recs, and most recently at BBC Introducing from The Glasshouse International Centre for Music.
Supported by Sunderland’s Young Musicians Project, the band have continued to grow their reputation through brilliant live shows, beautiful harmonies and honest songwriting.
Following the release of their debut single ‘Feel It Now?’ in 2025, The Last Time returned with their second release, ‘Getting Older’, in April, continuing to expand their audience and establish themselves as one of the North East’s most exciting emerging bands.
“Sunday for Sammy are an amazing organisation that have done so much for the local creative scene. To be given an opportunity to play the SFS stage is a huge honour and we are so grateful to have their support.”
