Sunday for Sammy

Bands on the Run - Great North Run 2026

Once again we have the perfect place to cheer on all the runners and soak up the atmosphere at our Band on the Run stage at the Great North Run.

Join us and our amazing performers at the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge, next to the Central Bar, with plenty space to cheer the runners on and also to have a dance with as our talented performers keep everyone entertained too.

Find out more about our performers below, check out their socials, give them a follow, and show them your support.

Kissed

Kissed are a group of brilliant women, all well loved actors/musicians from the North East.

They have been wooing audiences and capturing hearts with melodic interpretations of classic soul, pop and rock tunes since 2011.
They started the band from a love of music that brings them joy re - imagining classics from artists such as Aretha Franklin, Joan Armatrading, Alice Cooper and many more!

SAVANNAH LILY

I am a 19 year old singer/songwriter with a passion for country music. I have performed in venues all across the North East including The Glasshouse, The Cluny, The Grove and The Utilita Arena for Sunday For Sammy’s 2026 Concert. I am working on new music with various different songwriters and artists and have some exciting projects coming up!

“Sunday for Sammy awarded me a grant in 2025, which enabled me to release new music, promote my work, and further develop my brand and image. Their support has not only helped move my music career forward but has also provided incredible performance opportunities that have raised my profile.

One of the biggest highlights was performing at the 2026 Sunday for Sammy Concert at the Utilita Arena. From the first rehearsal to stepping onto the arena stage, the entire team made me feel relaxed, supported, and confident. It gave me the opportunity to share my music with a wider audience and encouraged many people to continue following my journey on social media. Performing alongside local icons and legends was both inspiring and motivating. It showed me that with hard work, dedication, and belief in myself, I can continue building a career and hopefully one day become an artist who inspires others in the same way.”

lEOPARD PRINT

Leopard Print are a 5-piece, female-fronted, riot grrrl band serving chaos, movement, and wicked dual-vocals. Loud, confrontational, and built to make you dance, Leopard Print thrives on high-energy performances and unapologetic presence.

“We can't wait to be playing one of the most iconic North East events. We hope we can pass some of our energy onto the runners - we're going to be bringing plenty!

We can't thank Sunday for Sammy enough for the money they have granted us and the support we have already received in such a small time frame. For a young band like ours, this is going to make the world of difference and now means we can record, release and perform to our hearts' content. Thank you so so much to the team and to everyone who has ever donated!”

SAM IDUS

My name is Sam Idus, I'm 18 and mostly do covers either solo or with my band, Nine Lives. I perform a range of genres but mostly do jazz and retro style music as a soloist and punk rock as part of a band. I also write my own songs which deliberately transcend genres.

“This would be my first time performing for Sunday for Sammy but I have seen the work that they do and I absolutely love it. I've heard nothing short of amazing comments from performers I know who have been affiliated with SfS before. I'm also deeply grateful that SfS has and keeps creating a platform for grassroot performers like myself.”

THE LAST TIME

The Last Time are a rising indie-pop band from Sunderland, quickly building a name for themselves across the North East music scene. Since forming in 2023, they’ve played venues including The Georgian Theatre and Independent, and supported artists such as Tom A.Smith and Isabel Maria. They’ve also performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at Redcar Kite Festival, during Mercury Prize Fringe Week at Pop Recs, and most recently at BBC Introducing from The Glasshouse International Centre for Music.

Supported by Sunderland’s Young Musicians Project, the band have continued to grow their reputation through brilliant live shows, beautiful harmonies and honest songwriting.

Following the release of their debut single ‘Feel It Now?’ in 2025, The Last Time returned with their second release, ‘Getting Older’, in April, continuing to expand their audience and establish themselves as one of the North East’s most exciting emerging bands.
